We had a lovely time a La Dolce Casa (DiMaggios) in Tamaqua PA last night. For us it was a bit of a drive but it was middle ground for a family dinner and came highly recommended from a trusted source. Turns out it was a great choice.
I am unwilling (or unable) to describe ‘the subtle flavors of something gently melding with something else’ so you need to look elsewhere for that. But I can report this:
- The restaurant itself was lovely
- Staff and waitress were all very friendly
- Easy parking. It was metered, but not required Saturday evening
- All the breads were great. Thumbs up on the bruschetta!
- Main courses were very good and the portions were generous - we left with 6 to-go containers
People near us got a thin Sicilian pie. As we were commenting on how good it looked the guy who was eating it confirmed. I had every intent of getting one to go, but by the time we were finished I was too full to think about eating another thing, even a wafer-thin mint.
Although we drive through Tamaqua a few times a year it is a waypoint, not a destination. La Dolce Casa may change that.
